對自然環境的變遷感受最敏銳的當然也是動物。但是，現代的孩子要在動物園，才能見到、認識多樣的動物。因此，故事背景發生在動物園，讓動物園中受文明保護的動物，與北極、南極的動物透過「科技」互相交流，讓這些發生在我們身邊，不可忽視的重要環保議題，自然而然的浸染孩子的心。
